Rev Stuart Hallam

The Reverend Stuart Hallam

Chaplain

Rev Stuart (Stu) Hallam has been appointed as the new Interim Chaplain to the UK Oil & Gas Industry.

Stu is a highly experienced Chaplain and Anglican Priest who was ordained in 1999. He is a former Royal Marines Commando Chaplain, who earned the famous “Green Beret” at the tender age of 37! For 16 years he served those on the frontline, throughout the world, in places like Afghanistan and Sierra Leone and supported their families back at home. He has also served as a parish priest in Vancouver Canada, as a Chaplain in the Prison Service and latterly as Chaplain to a medium risk Secure Mental Health Unit, supporting both patients and staff.

With a passion for Mental Health and Wellbeing informed by his own journey with PTSD, Stu formerly worked for the charity, Combat Stress, supporting veterans on their own mental health journeys.

Despite being an Anglican Priest with over 25 years’ experience, Stu’s real focus is on people’s own spiritual journey, working inclusively to support those of all faiths and none. He brings a wealth of experience of supporting those on the frontline working in safety critical environments.
