The work of the Chaplaincy is fully funded by Offshore Energies UK and the service is delivered through the UK Oil and Gas Chaplaincy Trust SCIO. SCIO is an acronym for ‘Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation’ and the Chaplaincy’s Charity Number is: SC008605. The UK Oil and Gas Chaplaincy Trust SCIO is legally constituted and exists to administer the annual costs of supporting the Chaplaincy service.
The Oil Chaplaincy Trust is a fund managed by the UK Oil and Gas Chaplaincy Trust SCIO and exists to provide financial support to industry workers and their families, past and present who have fallen into hardship. The work of the Trust is made possible by the donations of those within and without the industry.
The SCIO trustees, who are drawn from the industry to make appropriate financial provision for the Chaplaincy, to monitor financial transactions as required by law and to hear a report of the Chaplain’s work. The SCIO’s finances are examined and audited annually.
